the darigold project (proposed)
On the corner of 3rd and Water.
WE ARE ACTIVELY SEEKING SPONSORSHIPS FOR THIS PROJECT BEFORE THE BUILDING IS LEASED TO ANOTHER PARTY.
Total estimated cost: Alot, probably. Maybe two lots, but probably just the one. (Puns, aren't they fun?)
Desired grand opening: Summer, 2021.
*Alternatives: anyplace with a garage*
The ideal location for a downtown Ellensburg Electric Vehicle conversions shop and garage.
In the Spring of 2007, a space heater was left on a loveseat, which caused the entire Darigold milk facility to go up in flames. The fire burned for ten hours and destroyed six businesses.
In 2016, Wipsaw Brewery looked to revitalize the building, but this portion of the factory remains in much the same condition as it was the day the fire burned it. There is now a "For Lease" sign up on the building, the listing reads:
"BUILD TO SUIT. 5+ Commercial Lots (38,280 Sq. Ft.) All or Part."
That loading bay is the perfect location for our needs, because it is large enough for any vehicle that we might wish to convert - and if we're up to the task of remodeling - we can even turn the roof into a parking lot for extra space.
Why would we need extra space? EV West in California has a ten year reservation list to convert classic cars to fully electric.
What would we be converting?
Anything on wheels can be converted to fully electric.
For example, we are currently in discussions to get the ball rolling on converting the ENTIRE Central Washington University fleet to 100% Electric.
We have also entered into discussions with the Transit authorities in this city, both at HopeSource and the City of Ellensburg - to accelerate the transition of the entire fleet to fully electric (or hydrogen).
LOW INCOME CONVERSIONS
LADS: FREE EV CONVERSIONS FOR LOW INCOME DRIVERS!!!
We believe that everyone should have access to EVs. The word that the automotive industry uses to define the absorption rate of new technologies is "Penetration." 🍆 As both an educational and an advocacy program, it behooves our vision of society to see the people who can't afford current marketplace EV technology to still have access to the future of motion. We're not waiting for prices to drop. We're going to make it happen anyways.
In Seattle, Dave Cloud was able to convert his "Dolphin" to fully electric over a decade ago for under 5,000 U.S. Dollars, and he was able to get a 300 mile charge from that. In Ireland, Damien MacGuire was able to convert a BMW to fully electric for UNDER 1,000 EUROS. It is possible.
Learning how to do things better is one of the key points of engineering. Learning how to do the same exact thing for less money is one of the key points of humanity.
A SERVICE TO THE CITY
To meet the mission to facilitate the 100% penetration of EVs into the American mobility marketplace...
before we all fucking die.
THIS BIKE CAN BE CONVERTED

THIS HAULER BE CONVERTED
Do you have to make a lot of deliveries, but aren't yet ready to part with your older trucks or vans for new ones? Do you have a large fleet, and understand that converting is cheaper than buying new? Whatever the reason - the access ramp to the Darigold Project facility will be large enough for your vehicle!
THIS TRUCK CAN BE CONVERTED
Oh, the Toyota Hilux! The bastion of indestructible - the preferred truck by everyone with a tough task ahead of them for the last quarter century, from ISIS to the Special Forces. We can convert this for between 3,000 - 10,000 (depending on your desired use).
THIS CLASSIC CAN BE CONVERTED
We can not only convert your classic vehicle to fully electric, but we can get it looking show quality! The Darigold Project facility will house all of the necessary equipment to make your vehicle look like it came off the line yesterday!
USED EV SALES
You will find all sorts of used EVs for sale on our lot, in partnership with the local dealers.
Remember, the Electric motor was invented before the gasoline combustion engine, so there are more of these around than you might think! All they need is a little TLC from us, and they'll be fit for yet another second life!
This will be a project, not a business. Businesses are motivated by profit. Projects have a mission to accomplish.

MET students might even have access to credit solutions.

Need we say more?
Note to Sponsors: Tesla Service authorizations are at a minimum 3,000 a year or more.
We will work in partnership with a local rental business to rent out 100% Battery Electric Vehicles.
Clubhouse and Community Lessons
We will use this facility as the permanent garage for the EV Club, a gathering place for like-minded individuals within the EV Space, and a Public Relations portal for the University. We will use this location as a gathering space to host conference events, and shuttle people using all-electric vehicles between the campus and the Clubhouse.
The warehouse floor will also be available for any other club on campus to "rent" in the same manner they would reserve any other space.
This facility will be wholly managed and owned by the Electric Vehicle Club, in partnership with Dope EV, autonomously from the University, in order to hold the University harmless of any employee or customer relation.
We will offer classes to the community! Because we are literally a college club, we want you to learn! All classes will be instructed by consummate professionals.
